Mr. Tayo Akinmade Ayinde is a distinguished Nigerian accountant, administrator, and security expert. He currently serves as the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Lagos State, a position he has held since June 2019.

A native of Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State, Mr. Ayinde was born on 24th August 1964. He attended St. Peters’ Anglican Primary School, Alausa, Ikeja, and Ogudu Grammar School, Ojota. He obtained a Certificate in Banking and Finance as well as a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting from the Federal Polytechnic, Anambra (now Federal Polytechnic, Oko). He also holds a Master’s degree (MBA) in Financial Management from Lagos State University (LASU).

Mr. Ayinde began his career in 1993 as an Accounting Officer at Tell Magazine before joining the State Security Service (SSS), where he served meritoriously until his retirement in 2009. During his time in the SSS, he served as Chief Security Detail to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, then Governor of Lagos State.

A passionate advocate for continuous learning, he has attended several executive programmes at leading institutions including the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Toronto Rotman School of Management, and Harvard Business School.

In 2009, he ventured fully into politics and public service. He played a key role as Director-General of the Independent Campaign Group for Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat in the 2019 gubernatorial election, and later served as Chairman of the Inauguration Committee. His dedication and strategic insight led to his appointment as Chief of Staff to the Governor of Lagos State.

Widely respected for his discipline, loyalty, integrity, and commitment to public service, Mr. Ayinde is popularly known as “The Buffalo.” He remains a strong advocate for supporting the less privileged and has positively impacted many lives through his humanitarian efforts.
