Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu is a distinguished banker and financial services leader with over 30 years of extensive experience in risk management, credit strategy, compliance, and corporate leadership in the Nigerian banking industry.

He is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria Limited (FirstBank Group), one of Nigeria’s oldest and largest financial institutions. He was appointed to this role in June 2024, having served as Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer since April 2024, and previously as Executive Director, Chief Risk Officer and Executive Compliance Officer since January 2022.

Mr. Alebiosu began his banking career in 1991 with Oceanic Bank Plc (now Ecobank Plc). Prior to joining FirstBank in 2016 as Group Executive/Chief Risk Officer, he held senior risk management positions including Chief Risk Officer at Coronation Merchant Bank, Chief Credit Risk Officer at the African Development Bank Group, and Group Head, Credit Policy & Deputy Chief Credit Risk Officer at United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management and a Master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos. He also earned a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Widely respected for his expertise in risk governance, strategic leadership, and innovative banking solutions, Mr. Alebiosu brings deep financial acumen and private sector insight to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, particularly in supporting sustainable funding models, operational efficiency, and public-private partnerships for enhanced security infrastructure across Lagos State.
